Youth support IMPRUVE's efforts.  Youth who are disabled and their non-disabled peers march together to cheer on our efforts in the Disability Pride Parade.  They are angels in disguise, helping their elders regain their human rights and instill pride in their abilities despite labels of disability. We are this-abled.
We can't leave behind those who are not green and do not have healthcare, or stop fighting because our next door neighbor and doctors can't or won't  IMPRUVE takes pride in marching annually and being supported by our non-disabled peers in our advocacy work on behalf of Persons who are disabled. We take pride in rallying with ACS against the Maximus contract that drains funds from the state budget to pay for services by a private contractor that are not user-friendly  by people who are not accessible, and may have cut 42,000 persons from the program who still qualify for services.  - See more at: http://bniceh.blogspot.com/#sthash.xSZ3BvP9.dpuf

We support drivers who care about  our well-being and getting us picked up even when not going for long trips

We are green.  Many people who are disabled (PWDs) cannot handle fumes from diesel and gas combustion vehicles.  We are supporters of 1Sky and the Clean Air Act.

Thus we founded the Soular Car Project, which supports self-employment and employment of  PWDs to assemble solar-powered vehicles, maintain them and sell them alongside ex-offenders, youth and seniors with good work ethics willing and able to work.  Also, the project includes green paratransit. With your support and the support of rehab, mechanical and electrical engineers to solve the weight problem that occurs when doors and w/c ramps are added, we expect to have this project up and running between 2016-2017. The project may require the use of nanotechnology to fabricate the doors and ramps. The vehicle batteries would be charged at charging stations located in various locations. See archives and photos from prior posts.

Solar panel sits on top.  This vehicle without the velcro is made by Sun Cruise and is sold in Highland Park IL (but costs are prohibitive for persons who have low income and small nonprofits, which is why we want to assemble our own); also sold in the south and southwest.  It sits on a golf cart frame.  According to a mechanical engineer, as of 2010, had never had been involved in or caused an accident.  It is a NEV vehicle (Neighborhood electric vehicle) that meets federal guidelines, but each state sets its own regulations.  The Secretary of State of Illinois and the City Council of Chicago approve NEVs with certain restrictions as a NEV is a low speed (35 mph or under), low weight (3500 pounds or less) vehicle.  Check regulations with your city or state.
Though  IMPRUVE set a  target by 2016 to own its own vehicles or fleet of van pools for those of us who have invested funds and energy into this potential to travel independently, we won’t end our shared role or progress at 2016.
By 2020, we expect to be there with the Green Think Tank for the Disability Community (GTTDC) as users, trainers, and interns of nanotechnology and green technology without the ongoing fights with state legislators for monies and service boards for acceptance of riders as advisors who are taken seriously, seldom to revisit the uncertainties of service, unequal services, and policy that leave riders and other persons who are disabled behind.

All activists, advocates, seniors, people who are disabled, spiritually-directed people (and even if you are not spiritually-directed), human service providers, healers, healthcare providers, please get the word out and try to attend. This is very important. Many of us who receive Medicaid are unjustly being removed or services delayed by inefficiency - See more at: http://bniceh.blogspot.com/#sthash.5Auuc9pG.dpuf
